Football Puts on the Pads for Wednesday Workout at Yulman
Oct 26, 2016 | Football
NEW ORLEANS - Tulane football was back at it on the practice field Wednesday morning with a two-plus hour workout in pads and shorts.
The Green Wave (3-4, 0-3 American Athletic Conference | West) are seeking their first homecoming win at Yulman Stadium in Saturday's mid-day matinee with SMU (3-4, 1-2 The American | West). Tulane's victory on homecoming was a 24-21 victory over North Texas on Oct. 5, 2013. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. on ESPNews.
To come out on top against the Mustangs, the Wave will have to rely on their defense, which enters the week ranked tied for fourth in the nation in turnover margin (+9, 1.29 per game), as well as see the offense continue to put up offensive numbers that led 449 total offensive yards in the win over Southern and 446 total offensive yards in the win at UMass. Â Â
"We have to have their best right now," said head coach Willie Fritz. "You have to be mentally toughest now, you have to be physically toughest now and practice, prepare and play hard every single week. Those are the teams that are successful."
Tickets for Saturday's game can be purchased by clicking here to purchase, calling 504-861-WAVE (9283) or visiting the Tulane Ticket Office, located on the first floor of the James W. Wilson, Jr. Center, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
