Football Prepares for Regular-Season Finale at UConn

Willie Fritz Weekly News Conference
NEW ORLEANS - Tulane football put in its first two practices of the week at Yulman Stadium, preparing for its final matchup of the 2016 season at UConn on Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m. CT on ESPNews and WatchESPN.
"I think we practiced well," said head coach Willie Fritz about the team's practices on Tuesday and Wednesday. "With our low numbers, we have to kind of service each other. It's difficult to really get out there and replicate everything we want. But this late in the season, there has to be carryover from practice to game to game to game. And I think there is."
Tulane (3-8, 0-7 American Athletic Conference | West) looks to halt its six-game skid and get the program's first victory in a road regular-season finale since a 44-10 win at Houston on Nov. 22, 1997. The Green Wave's last victory over a conference opponent was the 45-31 victory over UCF on Oct. 3, 2015.
Tulane and UConn (3-8, 1-6 The American | East) are meeting for the third time with the series tied at 1-1. The Huskies' conference win this season came on a 20-9 home victory over Cincinnati on Oct. 8.
