Football Heads Indoors for Tuesday Morning Practice

Willie Fritz Weekly News Conference
METAIRIE, La. - Tulane football took its opening practice this week indoors as the Green Wave made the short trek to the New Orleans Saints pracitice facility in Metarie to get ready another road contest this Saturday at Houston.Â
"We had a good workout," said head coach Willie Fritz. "I thought the kids bounced around well. We're so fortunate that we're able to go in an NFL indoor facility and work out. Otherwise, it would be a little touch and go with the weather so we got a good day of work in."
The Green Wave (3-6, 0-5 American Athletic Conference | West) aim to get back into the win column against the Cougars (7-2, 4-2 The American | West) in a conference battle set for a 2:30 p.m. CT kickoff on CBS Sports Network. Tulane turns its focus to halting its current four-game losing streak and earning its first conference road win since defeating Houston 31-24 at TDECU Stadium on Nov. 8, 2014. The Cougars lead the all-time series 15-5 with a 7-3 record at home.
"I've told my players at the beginning of the year that I was going to approach each week the same way regardless of the outcome of the previous week," added Fritz. So we just have to get after it and fight, scratch and claw and continue to keep improving."
Following Houston, the Olive and Blue are back at home for their final regular-season finale at Yulman Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 19 against Temple. Tickets for that game can be purchased by clicking here to purchase, calling 504-861-WAVE (9283) or visiting the Tulane Ticket Office, located on the first floor of the James W. Wilson, Jr. Center, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
