Football Gets in Work at Yulman on Wednesday
Nov 9, 2016 | Football
NEW ORLEANSÂ - Tulane football was back on the Benson Field turf at Yulman Stadium Wednesday morning for its second workout of the week.
"We put some new things in," said head coach Willie Fritz. "The guys are learning it and working with it. Like I always talk about, we need to have in-season heroes and guys striving to improve on a daily basis."
The Green Wave (3-6, 0-5 American Athletic Conference | West) hope the new wrinkles can bring them a first conference win this season. Saturday's game at Houston marks the school's 22nd game in football as a member of The American. The Green Wave hold a 3-18 record for their first two-plus seasons in the conference. Tulane's last victory over a conference opponent was the 45-31 victory over UCF on Oct. 3, 2015.
The matchup with the Cougars (7-2, 4-2 The American | West) is Tulane's second-straight on the road and a part of the stretch run of three of its last four games away from New Orleans. Kickoff on Saturday is set for 2:30 p.m. CT on CBS Sports Network with Dave Ryan (play-by-play), Corey Chavous (analyst) and Melanie Collins (sidelines) on the call.
Following Houston, the Olive and Blue are back at home for their final regular-season finale at Yulman Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 19 against Temple. Tickets for that game can be purchased by clicking here to purchase, calling 504-861-WAVE (9283) or visiting the Tulane Ticket Office, located on the first floor of the James W. Wilson, Jr. Center, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
