Women's Tennis Hosts Akron Saturday Morning

NEW ORLEANS - Returning home for a one match stint, the Tulane women's tennis team (4-10) will host Akron (10-4) on Saturday, March 19, at 10 a.m. CT at the City Park Pepsi Tennis Center. If forced indoors due to inclement weather, the Green Wave will clash with the Zips at the Hilton Riverside downtown, with warmups commencing around 11:30 a.m. For updates, be sure to follow Tulane on Twitter @GreenWaveWTenn.
LAST TIME OUT
Last weekend the Green Wave earned a 1-1 split in Houston, first moving to 1-0 against American Athletic Conference opponents by downing Houston 4-3. The Wave then suffered a 4-1 loss to No. 24 Kansas.
RANKED MATCHES
After squaring off with No. 24 Kansas last weekend, the Green Wave have now clashed with four top-25 opponents in the last nine matches. Overall, the Wave have faced nine ranked foes on the season.
MAKING WAVES
Senior Jacqui Katz won both her singles matches at the No. 5 position last weekend, improving to 5-8 this spring. Katz last defeated Kansas' Summer Collins in straight sets, 7-5, 6-2.
HOME SWEET HOME
The Wave return home where they have achieved a 3-4 mark this spring, previously besting Nicholls State, No. 75 Maryland and Colorado.
SCOUTING AKRON
Akron enters the contest 10-4 on the season and 3-2 in road matches. The Zips just ended a three-match losing streak (at East Tennessee State, vs Winthrop and at Cleveland State) with a 5-2 win vs. Detroit at home last Saturday.
UP NEXT
Following Saturday's home contest, Tulane will fly off to Florida for back-to-back conference showdowns against UCF on March 25, then USF on March 27.
