NEW ORLEANS - The No. 23 Tulane men's tennis team (14-4) did not let the 40-minute rain delay or windy weather phase them, utilizing strong singles play to cruise past Brown (8-12), 4-1, on Wednesday afternoon in City Park. It marked the Green Wave's 10th victory in the past 11 matches, also improving to 8-1 at home.
"Touch match today with a tough opponent in Brown," Tulane head coach Mark Booras said. "A little bit different situation today with the rain, the rain delays and the windy weather, but the guys showed a lot of maturity and focus to step up like they did in singles to go out and not only get a great start but close like they did."
Starting with singles today, the Olive and Blue received straight-set victories from Sebastian Rey (6-0, 6-2) on court three, Alex Van Cott (6-4, 6-1) on court five, No. 83 Constantin Schmitz (6-1, 6-3) on court two and finally No. 1 Dominik Koepfer with the clincher on court one, 6-3, 7-6(5).
