Two Bowlers, Team Earn Academic All-NTCA Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Two Tulane bowlers in Sarah Forton and Hannah Ryan have earned All-Academic honors from the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA), while the Green Wave squad also picked up team honors from the organization.

To earn individual honors, a bowler must maintain a 3.4 cumulative GPA through the 2015-16 season, and the team honors are awarded to teams who post a cumulative team GPA of 3.2.

"I am very proud of the ladies performing at a high standard in the classroom," stated Tulane bowling coach Hayley Veitch. "They are a group of contentious ladies and I am glad they get the recognition they deserve. It is never easy to balance a hectic tournament schedule with academics but they proved that they can get the job done."

Tulane's bowling team posted a cumulative GPA of 3.214. Forton, a Public Health major from Macomb, Michigan, owns a cumulative GPA of 3.475. Ryan, who recently graduated with a degree in Public Health, posted a cumulative GPA of 3.460.

Seventeen teams earned All-Academic status from the NTCA, while 163 bowlers picked up individual honors.
