Tulane Women’s Tennis Summer Update

Dalmau, Muller and Sisti all in action
NEW ORLEANS – Three Tulane women's tennis players were in prominent summer tournaments the past few weeks, as sophomore Elena Muller and incoming freshmen Christina Sisti and Julieta Dalmau were all in action. Muller and Dalmau competed in different cities as part of the ITA Summer Circuit while Sisti participated in the ITF Juniors Bank of Bermuda Foundation Tournament. Both Sisti and Dalmau reached the singles and doubles finals of their respective tournaments.
Sisti earned a spot in the main draw of the Bermuda tournament after back-to-back straight-set wins in qualifying. From there, Sisti cranked out three more straight-set victories, including a 7-5, 6-0 win over the No. 5 seed Cameron Compall. Sisti then reached the finals after a 3-6, 6-4, 6-0 come from behind victory over Imani Graham, but later fell 6-4, 6-4, to No. 1 seed Alana Smith for the championship.
Sisti also achieved success in doubles, where she too came up just short, recording three straight victories before suffering defeat (2-6, 6-3, 10-2) in the finals in a third set super tiebreak to the No. 4 seeded team.
Meanwhile, over in Boulder, Colorado, the No. 2 seeded Dalmau advanced four rounds to reach the singles final where she fell 7-5, 6-0 to No. 1 seed Rebecca Weissmann of LSU. Like Sisti, Dalmau also advanced to the doubles final but fell in a tiebreak, 8-7(3).
Lastly, rising sophomore Muller competed in her hometown of Dallas. As the No. 7 seed in singles, Muller won two straight to reach the Round of 16. In doubles, Muller was tabbed with the No. 2 seed, where she advanced two rounds to the quarterfinals.
