Women’s Tennis Continues Fall Slate at Rice

Atkinson, Kurtz and Sisti to compete in Houston
RICE FALL INVITE DRAWS
NEW ORLEANS – After sending two members in Sade Atkinson and Naz Karagoz to the ULM Fall Tournament last weekend, the Tulane women's tennis program will call upon three Green Wave to answer the call for the Rice Fall Invite. Atkinson will compete once more and be joined by sophomore Sofia Kurtz and freshman Christina Sisti, as the latter two make their 2016-17 debuts. The three-day tournament starts Friday, Sept. 23, at 8:30 a.m. CT in Houston at the George R. Brown Tennis Center.
Sisti's Green Wave debut will be a doubles match alongside Kurtz on court nine vs Texas A&M Corpus Christi's Trigona/Moldonado at 8:30 a.m. Sisti and Kurtz are competing in the Flight 2A Doubles Draw, where if successful in their first match, could square off with a conference foe in Dimitrova/Mazzari of Houston in the semifinals on Saturday.
In singles, Sisti can be found in the Flight 3B Draw, squaring off with Northwestern State's Iryna Vardanian, while Kurtz can be located in Flight 5A vs. Denver's Sonja Radosevic.
For Atkinson's second straight fall tournament, the junior will be competing in the Flight 4A Singles Draw, clashing with Sam Houston State's Khee Yen Wee. At ULM, Atkinson went 1-1 in singles play.
All three singles matches are scheduled to be the fourth matches on court one (Sisti), two (Atkinson) and three (Kurtz) on Friday.
