CHICAGOÂ - Tulane women's golf is back on the links this weekend at another prestigious event, the 2016 WIndy City Collegiate Classic, hosted by Northwestern at Glen View Club just north of Chicago.
Once again, the Green Wave are set to compete against some of the nation's best at this two-day, 54-hole tournament. Host Northwestern highlights a field that also includes Arizona, Duke, Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma State and Stanford. The first two rounds get underway on Monday and the third round concludes on Tuesday.
Tulane is scheduled to go with its same five from the Mason Rudolph Championship two weeks ago, but with a slightly different order - sophomore Laura Munoz at No. 1, redshirt freshman Elise Genoux at No. 2, senior Belen Goicoechea at No. 3, freshman Haydyn Gibson at No. 4 and Freshman Gabrielle Correia at No. 5.
Â
"This is another fantastic opportunity to test ourselves against the best teams in the country," said head coach Lorne Don. "The Windy City Collegiate is one of the premier fall events. We are excited to get to Chicago to build on our play from the Mason Rudolph and this last two weeks of practice."
Following the Windy City Collegiate, the Green Wave return to action Oct. 17-18 at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational hosted by Texas.
