Bowling Finishes Eighth at Kutztown Invitational

READING, Pa. – No. 16 Tulane Bowling placed eighth at the Kutztown Invitational in its first action of the spring portion of the 2016-17 season this weekend at Hiester Lanes. The Green Wave posted a 9-6 record, 15,221 pin total, and 192.7 pin average in the tournament.
Junior Michelle Ng led the Green Wave with a 19th-place individual finish and a 203.83 pin average, while senior Angela Falgoust followed in 21st with a 202.83 pin average for the weekend. Tulane went 1-2 in the bracket competition on Sunday, with a win over Sacred Heart, to claim eighth place in the 26-team field.
Tulane finished ahead of eight ranked opponents, including four teams ranked higher in the national poll than the 16th-ranked Green Wave.
Tulane had a big day on Saturday, posting a 6-0 record in traditional matches. The Wave claimed victories over No. 13 Long Island, Morgan State, No. 17 Franklin Pierce, No. 18 Adelphi, Lincoln Memorial and Howard. Tulane knocked down 5,704 pins to increase its total to 11,636 for the tournament.
On the tournament's opening day on Friday, the Green Wave posted a 5,932 pin total and a 197.7 average, going 2-4 in Baker Matches, with wins over Sacred Heart and Kutztown.
The Green Wave will be back in action Feb 10-12 at the SFA Jacks Invitational in Nacogdoches, Texas.
