Oct 19, 2017 | Women's Swimming and Diving
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane women's swimming & diving heads east this weekend, taking on West Florida in a dual meet at the UWF Aquatic Center on Saturday. The meet will begin at 3 p.m.
Â
Tulane and West Florida last faced each other in the Argonauts' pool in 2015. At that meet – which also featured Air Force and Little Rock – Tulane defeated West Florida 177-66. A dual meet between the sides in 2014 at the Reily Center Natatorium ended with the Wave triumphant by a 186-103 score.
Â
Tulane also had a dual meet win over the Argonauts in Pensacola in 2013 (197-101).
Â
The Green Wave are entering Saturday's meet after a week off from competition. Tulane last swam October 6, claiming a huge dual-meet win over conference rival SMU. Tulane had never previously beaten SMU before that meet, going 0-4 lifetime against the Mustangs. But at the Reily Natatorium, Tulane earned a dominant 172-127 victory.
Â
Tulane claimed victories in eight events against the Mustangs, winning the 200 medley relay, the 1000 free, 100 back, 100 breast, 50 free, 200 breast, 500 free and 200 free relay. Paris Zhang was a part of three wins at that meet (200 medley relay, 100 back, 200 free relay) as was Courtney Barker (200 medley relay, 50 free, 200 free relay).
Â
After battling West Florida, Tulane will head back to New Orleans for their Dual-A-Pool-Ooza on October 27-28. On those dates, the Green Wave will take on Rice, FIU and Denver in three separate dual meets.
