Women's Tennis Set for ITA Southern Regional

NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane women's tennis team will compete for the second time this fall when it travels to Auburn, Ala., for the ITA Southern Regional. Competition begins Friday, October 20 with pre-qualifying rounds and concludes Tuesday with championship matches.
Tulane's doubles teams for the event comprise Elena Muller and Laura Fabrizi, Christina Sisti and Daniela La Fuente, as well as Ivone Alvaro and Sade Atkinson. Five Green Wave players will play in the singles main draw, including Muller, Fabrizi, Atkinson, La Fuente and Alvaro, while Sisti and Sofia Kurtz will compete in the singles 'B' draw.
In their first tournament of the season, the Green Wave had an abbreviated stint at the Samford Invitational in Birmingham, Ala., Oct. 6-7 due to inclement weather caused by Hurricane Nate. The team combined for a 5-1 mark in singles play and won three doubles matches, highlighted by a 2-1 mark by Atkinson and Sofia Kurtz.
