Women's Tennis Heads to Tuscaloosa for 2017 Fall Season Finale
Oct 26, 2017 | Women's Tennis
NEW ORLEANS - The state of Alabama has been the only destination for Tulane women's tennis this Fall, and that will not change when the Green Wave closes the campaign Oct. 27-28 in Tuscaloosa at the Roberta Allison Classic.
Tulane began the year Oct. 6-7 at the Samford Invitational in Birmingham, before competing at the ITA Southern Regional in Auburn Oct. 19-20. The team has its eyes set on a strong finish before its first dual match season under new head coach Maria Brito begins Jan. 21, 2018 at the City Park Tennis Center.
Play begins Friday with the first round of doubles at 9 a.m. (CT), followed by the first two rounds of singles. Saturday will start at the same time, featuring the final two rounds of doubles and the third round of singles matches.
Sophomore Christina Sisti leads the Green Wave with a 3-1 singles mark, while senior Sade Atkinson sits at 2-1. Atkinson is also 4-2 in doubles play, which includes a quarterfinals appearance with sophomore teammate Ivone Alvaro at ITA Regionals where the duo upset the No. 2 seed in the draw from Auburn.
