Women's Golf Finishes Fall Schedule at Battle at the Beach

SAN JOSÉ DEL CABO, Mexico – Tulane women's golf capped its 2017 fall schedule with a 13th-place finish at Battle at the Beach at Club Campestre San José.
The Green Wave posted an 895 (+43), closing the tournament with its best round on Sunday. Five of the team's six players competing equaled or improved on their rounds from Saturday's second round.
Freshman Jennifer Rosenberg paced Tulane, finishing tied for 26th among the 83-player field with a 218 (+5). The Lauren Hollow, N.Y. native scorched the course with a second round 69 (-2) highlighted by four birdies on the first, 10th, 13th and 18th holes.
Sophomore Haydyn Gibson hovered around par throughout the weekend and finished tied for 38th with a 220 (+7). The Clearwater, Fla., native started the weekend with a one-over 72 in the first round on the strength of birdies on the fourth, sixth, eighth and 17th holes.
With four birdies of her own, junior Laura Munoz posted the Wave's best final round with an even par 71 to finish at 227 (+14). Junior Abbie Cantwell and sophomore Gabrielle Correia posted identical scores of 236 (+23), while redshirt sophomore Elise Genoux carded a 228 (+15) competing as an individual.
"We got good performances from Jennifer and Haydyn to close our fall season," head coach Lorne Don said. "We have a lot of areas to focus on as we head into the offseason and get ready for the spring."
Tulane's spring season kicks off Feb. 4-6, 2018 at the UCF Challenge in Orlando.
