Green Wave to play Rhode Island and ULM

NEW ORLEANS – The No. 40 Tulane women's tennis team looks to keep its winning streak alive this weekend when they host Louisiana-Monroe and Rhode Island in a doubleheader on Saturday, March 18. The Green Wave will challenge ULM first at 10 a.m., followed by the Rams at 3 p.m.

WATCHING THE WAVE
The Olive and Blue have won five straight heading into Saturday's doubleheader. If the Wave were to win both matches, the potential seven-game streak would mark a new season high.
Â
Tulane has made a huge turnaround this season with their impressive 16-4 record, already doubling the amount of victories compiled last spring (8-14). The Wave have also been dominant on their home courts at City Park, posting an unblemished 8-0 record.
Â
BACK-BONE OF THE LINE-UP
The bottom half of Tulane's singles line-up has arguably been the anchor of the team this year, as courts 4-6 have compiled 37 total dual victories. Freshman Christina Sisti (13-4) and sophomore Elena Muller (13-2) co-lead the team in victories, with the latter boasting a team high six-match win streak. Meanwhile, freshman Ivone Alvaro has won four straight to improve to 11-5 this spring.
Â
DOUBLE TIME
Tulane has won the doubles point in 16 of its 20 matches. Furthermore, the Wave's team record is 14-2 when claiming the doubles point.
Â
Muller and Naz Karagoz earned their first career doubles ranking on March 7, checking in at No. 76. The duo are 10-6 this spring with a 2-1 record against nationally ranked pairs. Furthermore, Alvaro and Sade Atkinson have been holding down the No. 2 doubles position where they are 7-1 together.
Â
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Rhode Island enters with an eight-game losing streak and 4-8 overall record. Most recently, the Rams suffered a 7-0 loss to UCF in New Orleans. Meanwhile, ULM is 7-1 this spring and the winners of six straight. The Warhawks are coming off of a 5-2 win over Louisiana Tech on March 9.
