Women’s Tennis Tabbed with No. 2 Seed in American Athletic Conference Championships

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – With the American Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Championships slated to begin this week at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida, the league office released the tournament bracket and seeding on Monday morning. After a 22-6 campaign, the Tulane Green Wave were tabbed with a No. 2 seed and received a first round bye.
The Olive and Blue will begin their tournament run on Thursday at 2 p.m. CT, as they'll await the winner of No. 7 USF vs No. 10 Temple. The Green Wave defeated the Bulls, 4-3, back on Feb. 19 and have not competed against the Owls this season.
The other top seed on Tulane's side of the bracket and potential semifinal round opponent is No. 3 SMU. The other half of the bracket will see No. 4 Cincinnati clash with No. 5 Memphis, while defending champion Tulsa received the No. 1 overall seed of the tournament and will play the winner of No. 8 UCF vs No. 9 Houston.
