Bowling Returns to Action at Kutztown Invitational

NEW ORLEANS – Following its big performance at Arkansas State last week, No. 9 Tulane bowling is quickly back in action this weekend at the Kutztown Invitational at Hiester Lanes in Reading, Pa.
The Green Wave finished fifth at the Mid-Winter Classic in Jonesboro, Ark., last weekend, collecting a pair of wins over fellow top-10 opponents. This weekend in Pennsylvania, Tulane will be part of a field of 28 teams that includes 17 ranked schools and nine of the top-10 squads in the National Tenpin Coaches Association poll.
The tournament takes place Friday through Sunday, featuring five Baker matches on Friday, five traditional team matches Saturday, and a three-round best-of-7 Baker bracket play on Sunday. Matches begin at 9:55 a.m. CT Friday and 8:25 a.m. CT Saturday morning, and bracket play on Sunday begins at 7:25 a.m. CT. Tulane's matches will be streamed live via Facebook Live.
The Green Wave is joined in the field by No. 2 McKendree, No. 3 Arkansas State, No. 4 Vanderbilt, No. 5 Sam Houston State, No. 6 Delaware State, No. 7 Stephen F. Austin, No. 8 Maryland Eastern Shore, No. 10 Fairleigh Dickinson, No. 12 Sacred Heart, No. 13 Adelphi, No. 14 LIU-Brooklyn, No. 14 UAB, No. 16 St. Francis (Pa.), No. 17 North Carolina A&T, No. 18 Wisconsin-Whitewater and No. 24 Monmouth. The host Kutztown, Morgan State, Duquesne, Franklin Pierce, Chestnut Hill, St. Francis (N.Y.), Howard, Youngstown State, Norfolk State, Bethune Cookman and Medaille round out the field.
Last weekend, the Green Wave won seven of their final eight matches in the tournament, including victories over SFA and Sam Houston State, to place fifth.
