NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane Department of Athletics was recognized with the highest award of the year from Paciolan – the department's ticketing solutions provider – at Paciolan's annual event last week.
Tulane, now in its first year using Paciolan's services, is the first rookie property to ever win the Founder's Award in the company's history. Paciolan's properties include more than 500 collegiate athletic departments, professional sports teams and other entertainment venues across the country.
Department members Mónica Lebrón, Kyle Osgood, Taylor Prior and Mike Miller were presented with the award at PACnet '18 on February 13 in Newport Beach, California.
"Tulane is honored to have been selected to receive the Founder's Award," said Osgood, Tulane's Assistant Athletic Director for Ticket Sales and Service. "This award is a culmination of hard work by not only the ticket staff, but also our development and marketing staffs. In our first year with Paciolan, we were able to implement many of the features that Paciolan offers to create a more seamless buying and account management process for our customers. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Paciolan in 2018."
This year, the Tulane ticket office utilized Paciolan's services to make it easier for Tulane fans to purchase tickets to Green Wave athletic events, donate to charities and resell their tickets.
"We are thrilled to have presented Tulane University with the Founder's Award at PACnet '18 for its outstanding achievements with the Paciolan platform," said Kim Damron, President and CEO of Paciolan. "Mónica Lebrón and her talented team embody the spirit of this award by implementing numerous strategic initiatives in ticketing, marketing and fundraising while embracing innovation."
"We are beyond grateful for the partnership we established with Paciolan a year ago," said Lebrón, Tulane's Deputy Athletics Director/Chief Operating Officer. "We have felt supported and appreciated throughout this entire first year and look forward to strengthening our working relationship with them for years to come. Receiving the Founder's Award certainly showcases the unity among our External Relations units – of which I am extremely proud – but could not have been possible without the unwavering support of the staff at Paciolan. The future is bright."
During football season, Tulane gave fans the opportunity to purchase additional seats for its Seats for Soldiers program. Through that program, which aimed to give local veterans complimentary tickets to the Tulane-Army football game in September, resulted in more than 350 seats donated to veterans.
Similarly during basketball season, Paciolan, Tulane and the Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Louisiana partnered together for the Hoops for Holidays program. That program gave more than 300 donated seats to youth in the New Orleans community for the men's basketball game against Houston in January.
With StubHub integration through Paciolan, Tulane also enabled football ticket holders this year to directly resell their game tickets through StubHub, the nation's largest ticket marketplace.
Those initiatives combined with creating a simpler online renewal process, allowing for easier seat upgrading and giving fans the option to donate directly to Tulane when purchasing tickets all resulted in the Green Wave earning the Founder's Award.
