NORFOLK, Va. - The Tulane women's tennis team dropped its third straight match in a 5-2 setback at 39th-ranked Old Dominion in non-conference play on Sunday afternoon.
The Green Wave (7-7) suffered breaks at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions midway through doubles play, before the Monarchs (12-4) closed out those matches, 6-4 and 6-3, respectively to clinch the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead in the overall match.

Sophomore Ivone Alvaro broke the rally when she scored a 6-4, 6-1 victory from the No. 4 spot, but the Monarchs nabbed their fifth team point with another straight set win on court five. Freshman Daniela La Fuente gave the Wave their second and final point of the day when she bounced back from a lost second frame to win the third-set tiebreaker, 10-8.
