Jul 26, 2018 | Women's Bowling
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane bowling graduate assistant Jessica Cwik has been promoted to assistant coach, head coach Hayley Veitch announced Thursday.
Â
Cwik has spent the last four years as the Tulane bowling graduate assistant coach – the lone assistant on staff. A member of the Tulane's initial team in 2011-12, she becomes the program's first full-time assistant.
Â
"I am thrilled to finally have Jessica as our full time assistant coach," Veitch said. "You can't find a more dedicated person than Jessica who has been around Tulane athletics and the bowling program for five out of the seven years of its existence. Jessica shares my drive and passion for the team and she will help in achieving our ultimate goal of winning a NCAA National Championship. With her knowledge and experience in social work together with a sound background of bowling makes her an ideal fit for the program. I am so thankful for all she has done for the program to date and I am excited to see the future impact she has on the team."
Â
Cwik is entering her fifth season as a member of the Tulane coaching staff, and recently received her USBC Bronze coaching certification. She has helped lead the Green Wave to their first top-10 national ranking last year, and a two-year run as a top-15 ranked program. The Wave have continued to push past previous boundaries, collecting multiple tournament victories among strong fields, advancing in postseason tournaments and producing four individual All-America honors.
Â
Cwik received her bachelor's degree from Marquette University in 2011 and came to Tulane to complete her playing career for the 2011-12 season. She received a master's degree in social work from Tulane in 2012 and returned two years later to serve as graduate assistant coach.
