Bowling Garners NTCA Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane bowling has been recognized for its excellence in the classroom with a National Tenpin Coaches Association All-Academic Team Award for the 2017-18 academic year.

The Green Wave produced a 3.450 team cumulative grade-point average, one of a record-setting 38 collegiate programs honored with the team award. Schools were recognized with a team GPA of 3.2 or higher, and Tulane is one of just 22 programs with a GPA above 3.40.

Six Tulane bowlers were honored with the NTCA All-Academic Award: graduate senior Nikki Williams (Master of Social Work), senior Michelle Ng (finance), junior Tiera Gulum (biochemistry) and sophomores Joanna Hacket (environmental health science), Isabelle Lee (biochemistry) and Claire Turner (public health). A total of 268 individual athletes across the country were recognized for posting a 3.4 GPA or higher. The 268 honorees among 55 schools set a record for both individuals and schools since the inception of the award in 2006.
