Jan 25, 2019 | Sailing
NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane sailing team is officially back in action this Saturday, kicking off its spring competition schedule at 10 a.m. in the SEISA Open in Austin, Texas.
The Green Wave will face seven teams in the regatta – Loyola, Texas A&M, Texas A&M at Corpus Christi, Texas A&M Galveston, Central Oklahoma, North Texas and host University of Texas.
Tulane will send two teams to participate in the respective A and B Division races, sailing a total of 18 fleet-style races in the regatta, weather permitting.
Texas A&M, Texas A&M at Corpus Christi, North Texas and the University of Texas are all sending two teams to compete in each division while Loyola, Texas A&M Galveston, Central Oklahoma and Tulane are sending one, creating a 12-opponent regatta for the spring season opener.
All eight participating schools are members of the South Eastern Intercollegiate Sailing Association (SEISA) Conference, with Tulane finding familiar opponents in Texas A&M Galveston, University of Texas and Texas A&M after facing them in the team's inaugural varsity season this fall.
The Green Wave defeated the three Texas opponents in their last time out on the water, earning one first place and two second place finishes to win their home Baldwin Wood Regatta in October.
Fans are able to stay updated with the Green Wave and track their live scores here throughout the day.
