NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane beach volleyball team continues on with its preseason action this weekend, hosting four teams in its fall tournament on Saturday before heading to LSU for the Tigers' tournament on Sunday.
The Green Wave will compete at home against LSU, TCU, New Orleans and Southeastern Louisiana, with action beginning at 9 a.m. at White Sands Volleyball Courts. The tournament is free and open to the public.
In the team's last time out on the sand, Tulane competed against five teams in the Gulf Shores Collegiate Clash.
Juniors Addison Hermstad and Ashley Delgado won two matches against Spring Hill College (21-9, 21-11 and 21-11, 21-11) while splitting both matches against Florida State (15-21, 21-16 and 21-19, 9-21) from the No. 2 position.
Two freshmen also had impressive performances on court four, as Samantha Mehlman and Kendall Peters beat LSU 21-19, 21-13 in their first match against the Tigers before splitting the second, 24-22, 11-21.
Following Saturday's tournament at home, the Olive and Blue are set to head to Baton Rouge on Sunday to wrap up fall preseason competition.Â
