Women's Tennis Rolls Through Day Two at FSU

TALLAHASSEE - Sophomore Adelaide Lavery collected a pair of singles wins to secure a spot in the finals of her singles draw, as the Tulane women's tennis team finished day two at the Seminole All-Conference Showdown at Florida State University on Saturday.

After having her first-round match pushed back due to rain Friday afternoon, Lavery finally got to take the court first thing Saturday morning against ETSU's Alejandra Morales. Lavery made quick work of Morales, rolling to a 6-4, 6-2 victory. She met McNeese State's Dalia Ahmed in the semifinals later in the day and eased her way to another straight-set victory, 6-3, 6-3.

Redshirt sophomore Lauren Gish was efficient in her lone singles match of the day, cruising to a 6-2, 6-4 win over Wisconsin's Miruna Tudor to earn a spot in Sunday's finals.

The Green Wave close play at FSU on Sunday with the final round of singles matches.
