NEW ORLEANS – One week after hosting the SEISA Team Race and Coed Championships, the Tulane sailing team is set to head back on the road to compete in the SEISA Women's Championship on Saturday and Sunday in Austin, Texas.
Tulane's women will face Loyola, Texas A&M, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, North Texas and Texas on the water this weekend, sending two boats to compete in the respective A and B Division races.
In the fleet racing format, two boats from each of the six schools will sail against one another at the same time, totaling 12 races over the course of two days.
The Green Wave earned second-place finishes in both regattas last weekend on Lake Pontchartrain, falling just short of Texas A&M Galveston.
Freshman Ciara Rodriguez-Horan, alongside seniors Grace Bloomfield and Sophie Ricker, posted an impressive performance, finishing in either first or second place in all 13 races in the A Division.
Sophomores Caelan Watts and Kate Lenhard were also successful from the B Division in their last competition on the water, totaling five first-place finishes.
