Positional Preview: Offensive Line

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane offensive line unit will once again play a significant role for the Green Wave this fall.
Heading into 2019 the unit is comprised of 17 players, featuring nine freshman, three sophomores, two juniors, two seniors and one graduate transfer.
THE UNIT
-Although Tulane only returns two consistent starters in Corey Dublin and and Keyshawn McLeod from last year's team, the Green Wave do welcome back senior Tyler Johnson and sophomore Joey Claybrook both of whom have started 15 and four games, respectively.
-The Green Wave lost seniors John Leglue, Noah Fisher and Dominque Briggs to graduation this offseason.
-Dublin has started in each of the 25 career game he has appeared in.
-Over the offseason, Tulane welcomed Christian Montano and Ben Knutson from Brown and Virignia, respectively.
-Tulane's 2019 Signing Class featured incoming freshmen Sincere Haynesworth, Colby Oregeron, Jackson Fort, Trace Oldner and Caleb Thomas.
-The Green Wave offensive line will be led by Cody Kennedy in 2019. Kennedy took over as offensive line coach after spending the 2018 campaign at the University of Georgia where he helped guide the Bulldogs to the Allstate Sugar Bowl as a graduate assistant.
-Tulane's returning offensive linemen have combined to make 56 career starts.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
-Tulane's offensive line paved the way for the Green Wave to rush for over 300 yards in four games (Memphis, Tulsa, USF and Louisiana-Lafayette).
-The Green Wave were a perfect 4-0 when rushing for 300 yards last season.
-Tulane's rushing total of 2,836 yards ranks as the second-highest total for a single season in program history.
-Tulane has rushed for over 100 yards in 40 straight games.
-The Green Wave's rushing attack averaged 218.2 yards per game and ranked 23rd in the country.
Tulane opens the 2019 season on Thursday, August 29 at home against FIU with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. The Green Wave are coming off a memorable 2018 campaign that was highlighted by a win in the AutoNation Cure Bowl and an American Athletic Conference West Division Co-Championship.
