
Cross Country to Kick Off 2019 Season in UNO Opener

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane cross country team opens its 2019 season Friday night, competing across town in the UNO Cross Country Opener at Lake Oaks Park.
The women's 4K is set to begin at 6 p.m. with the men's 5k beginning at 6:45 p.m.
Tulane will run against host New Orleans, Louisiana-Lafayette, Nicholls, Dillard, Xavier, Loyola and Louisiana College in its first meet of 2019.
The women's team welcomes back seven runners and two newcomers this season while the men's team brings back six returners and one freshman.
Redshirt senior McKenzie Melius is back for her final season in Uptown, alongside seniors Paige Fatland and Mary Catherine Stovall. Redshirt sophomores Bridgid Selfors and Reid Belanger are back in action in 2019, joining sophomores Oneke Gwan and Nicole Phaneuf. Redshirt freshman Louise Jones and redshirt sophomore Pauline Helm enter their first year on the roster.
On the men's side, graduate student Tom Coe and senior Carlos Zervigon head into their final year in Olive and Blue. Redshirt sophomore Andrew Kipkemboi and sophomores Evans Kipchumba, Jamie Polakoff and Ian Valdez round out the returners, while the team also adds local freshman Samuel Kellum this fall.
