Oct 12, 2020 | Women's Beach Volleyball
NEW ORLEANS — Tulane beach volleyball announced on Monday that the team's September Scholar Athlete of the Month is sophomore Samantha Mehlman.
"We are proud to have Sam on our beach volleyball team," head coach Eyal Zimet said. "Always a go-getter, self-driven and focused, we appreciate tremendously Sam's efforts on and off the court to be the best version of herself — even when its not the easy or convenient route. Well-earned Sam!"
Student-athletes who exemplify tremendous effort in the classroom, engage in community service initiatives and represent Tulane Athletics with class earn the recognition.
"Samantha is an excellent representation of what it means to be a Tulane student-athlete," senior academic advisor Quaison Osborne said. "Samantha has been recognized as Scholar Athlete of the Month for her outstanding spring 2020 semester performance and continued success this fall, finishing the spring semester with a 4.000 GPA and earning Dean's List honors."
