
Jordan Named LSWA Player of the Week

NEW ORLEANS - Freshman Jerkaila Jordan of the Tulane women's basketball team was named Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) Player of the Week on Monday. This was the first weekly award given by the LSWA for the 2020-21 season and includes all games played thus far this season.
Jordan opened her collegiate career with 17 points, nine rebounds and four assists. She added two steals and a block, while shooting 6-11 from the field and 4-5 from the free throw line in the win over Nicholls. Jordan continued her the successful start to her collegiate career with a season-high 20 points in the win at South Alabama. She also logged five rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals in Mobile. Jordan went 4-4 from the free throw line, including two free throws to seal the game for the Wave. The New Orleans native led the team again with 18 points at Georgia Tech. She added six rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal against the Yellow Jackets.
Jordan ranks in the top 10 in the American Athletic Conference in scoring (18.3), rebounding (6.7), field goal percentage (.426), free throw percentage (.923), blocked shots (1.3). She is sixth among freshman in the NCAA in scoring at 18.3 points per game.
