Women's Tennis Closes Out Road Win at ULL, 4-3

The victory marks the Green Wave's (8-7) first road win of the season and first since a 6-1 victory at Charleston Southern last April 7. The Wave also handed ULL (9-2) its first home defeat of the year.
The Green Wave capitalized early in doubles action when Christina Sisti and Lahari Yelamanchili cruised to a 6-1 win on court three. Despite trailing, 5-4, on court two, Mackenzie Clark and Lauren Gish delivered a heavy punch with a 6-4 win on court one to clinch the doubles point.
Tulane dropped No. 6 singles by walkover, but pulled back in front, 2-1, in the overall match when Gish defeated Dana Radovanovic, 6-3, 6-2, on court four. The Ragin' Cajuns countered with straight-set wins on courts three and five to take their first lead of the day, 3-2, with the final two matches heading into third sets.
Ranked No. 112 nationally, Clark took the first set, 6-2, against Floriane Picaut on court one, but dropped the second frame, 6-4. She proved dominant in the decising frame however with a 6-3 victory to knot the scorebard at three-all.
That left the match hanging in the balance on court two, where Lavery won the first set, 6-4, but dropped the second, 7-5, to Mariona Perez. Tied up at five all, Lavery won the final two games to finish off the victory and clinch the match.
Tulane takes a nine-day break and returns home to host UConn on Monday, March 16. First serve is set for 2:30 p.m., at the City Park Tennis Center.
