SENIOR DAY: Tulane Honors Beach Volleyball's Meghan Doyle
May 10, 2020 | Women's Beach Volleyball
EDITOR'S NOTE: Over the next few months, TulaneGreenWave.com will honor the 35 seniors that had their respective collegiate careers cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic through this SENIOR DAY series. We hope you the fans enjoy this series and remember the seniors from the 2020 graduating class.
Though Meghan Doyle may have been a new addition to the beach volleyball roster in 2020, the senior has made her presence known Uptown after spending four years on Tulane’s indoor volleyball team. A two-time American Athletic Conference All-Academic selection, the Houston, Texas native excelled in the classroom and on the court. After graduating later this month as a double major in history and political science, Doyle will go on to join Teach For America in Massachusetts.
Today, we honor Doyle in our SENIOR DAY web series.
Q AND A WITH MEGHAN DOYLE
What made you want to come to Tulane?
“My mother went to law school at Tulane so I was familiar with the school. Tulane's competitive athletics and high academic standard drew me in during my recruiting process. When I came on my visit, the team displayed a cohesive and welcoming team culture so I was excited to join. Great group of women!!"
What is your favorite memory from your time at Tulane?
“It's so difficult to pick just one. I've enjoyed all the opportunities I've had with both the beach and indoor teams. Grinding through preseasons, practicing, traveling and competing with my teammates have all been such a joy for me. I've also loved seeing how Sarah Strasner's Bruff twitter account (@bruffthoughts) has blown up from her time as my teammate to becoming my coach.”
What's next?
“I'm joining Teach For America. I'll be a part of the Massachusetts corps teaching secondary humanities.”
