Aug 21, 2020 | Football
NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane Green Wave quarterback room in 2020 features depth, experience, youth and most of all ability. The Green Wave’s seven quarterbacks feature one senior, one junior, two sophomores and three freshmen.
THE UNIT
- Redshirt senior Keon Howard enters the year as the team’s top returning passer from a year ago.
- Howard arrived in 2018 as a transfer from Southern Miss. Over the course of his career, Howard has thrown for 1,772 yards, 11 touchdowns and has made 17 appearances, including seven starts.
- The Green Wave signed a pair of freshmen in their 2020 signing class, as they inked three-star prospects Michael Pratt and Justin Ibieta to national letters of intent in December of 2019.
- Pratt enrolled early and took part in the offseason conditioning program and spring practice.
- Ibieta comes to Tulane after being ranked as the 50th-best prospect in the state of Louisiana by Rivals.com after he posted a successful prep career at Metairie Park Country Day. He also earned All-District honors from Nola.com.
- Redshirt junior Drew Harris and redshirt freshman Cameron Dartez enter the program after spending 2019 at Austin Peay and Nicholls State, respectively.
- Redshirt sophomore Josh Holl and sophomore Josh Coltrin also return to the program this fall.
- Holl will begin his third year in the program. In 2019, Holl made his first career appearance.
- Offensive coordinator Will Hall, who is entering his second full season with the Green Wave, coaches the quarterbacks.
- The Olive and Blue lost Justin McMillan from last year’s unit. In 2019, McMillan passed for 2,444 yards and 17 touchdowns.

OF NOTE
- In 2019, Hall’s offense was one of the more explosive units in The American Athletic Conference, as Tulane surpassed 500 yards of total offense five times, including a 634-yard effort against Connecticut.
- Four of the Green Wave’s seven quarterbacks have collegiate football experience.
I really like the group of young men that are in our quarterback room. All of these guys do a tremendous job with their preparation and they truly make each other better everyday in practice. It’s really an unselfish group that impacts other people in a positive way on and off the field. I love coaching these guys and I can’t wait to see their continued development throughout the year. Will Hall, Offensive Coordinator
