Olive Shines in Tulane Volleyball’s Olive & Blue Scrimmage

NEW ORLEANS — The Tulane volleyball team got its final tuneup prior to the spring 2021 season on Saturday at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse in the Olive and Blue Scrimmage.
The Olive team swept the Blue team in the match, recording 25-19, 25-14 and 25-14 scores to close it out.
The Olive team hit .255 in the match, holding the Blue team to a .075 attack percentage. Junior right side hitter Yvette Burcescu led the Olive squad with 12 kills, hitting .522 in the three-set match.
Sophomore right side hitter Oona Bruss led the Blue team offensively, recording six kills while hitting .211.
The Green Wave open their season on Friday, Jan. 22 as they head to Hattiesburg, Mississippi for a tournament at Southern Miss. Tulane will face the Golden Eagles on Friday at 2 p.m. before facing UNO on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Tulane opens its home slate on Thursday, Jan. 28 as the team hosts UTSA in the first of four home matches in the Hertz Center.
