NEW ORLEANS — The Tulane swimming team (1-3) remains on the road this weekend as the Green Wave head to Dallas, Texas to take on American Athletic Conference opponent SMU (1-4).
The dual meet begins at 2 p.m. on Saturday inside the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr-McMillion Natatorium. The meet is closed to public, but fans are able to stream it live on ESPN+ by clicking here.
In the team's last meet against Houston, senior Kate McDonald and sophomore Lilly Byrne led the way for the Green Wave, as McDonald finished first in both the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.13) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:19.84) events and Byrne earned gold in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:17.13). Tulane put together 17 top-three finishes against the Cougars.
McDonald has totaled nine individual wins so far in her final season in Olive and Blue, earning AAC Women's Swimmer of the Week honors on Dec. 15 after winning the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard breaststroke events at LSU.
Also on a roll to start her career in Olive and Blue is freshman Danielle Titus, who has won three events and finished top-three in seven this season. Titus is already moving up in the Tulane record books, taking the fifth-place spot in the 100-yard backstroke (55.21) and the 10th-place spot in the 200-yard backstroke (2:00.80).
