
Swimming and Diving Grabs First Dual-Meet Win

PENSACOLA, Florida – The Tulane swimming and diving team recorded 11 first place finishes in their 187.00 to 111.00 win over West Florida on Friday night.

Tulane has now beaten West Florida in their last nine meetings.

" Today was a good win, I am proud of their efforts" head coach Leah Stancil said. "The team competed with a lot of pride. We had specific race strategies that we were focused on which they executed very well. We still have some technical skills that need improvement but I have been seeing growth from each of them, which I am very happy to witness."
Setting the standard for the meet were the 400-yard medley relay teams. Team-A consisting of Danielle Titus, Christiana Williams, Mya Drost-Parra and Iza Pelka took first with a time of 3:39.12. Team-B made up of Riley Hendrix, Autumn Keats-O'Connor, Eleanor McMeen and Sam Krew took second with a time of 3:40.13.
Noa Heron shined again taking both the 1000-yard free (10:12.91) and the 500-yard free (5:03.12). Lilly Byrne hit the wall right behind her at 10:20.82.
The girls of the Green Wave swept the podium in the 200-yard freestyle. Krew came in first with a time of 1:54.18, Pelka hit second with a time of 1:54.32, coming in third was Gianna Spremullo with a time of 1:56.17.
A second podium sweep came in the 200-yard back stroke. Riley Hendrix hit the wall first (2:05.77), Spremullo came in second (2:06.63), Drost-Parra followed suit coming in third (2:07.72).
Titus took first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.31 with teammate Reese Dunkenberger coming in second at 59.15.
Williams grabbed two first place finishes taking both the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.92) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:21.67).
The Olive and Blue went one and two in the 200-yard fly with Drost-Parra and Kate Amar taking the top spots. Drost-Parra came in first with a time of 2:06.49 with Amar right behind her with a time of 2:07.13.
After recording a pair of second place finishes, Spremullo found herself at the top of the podium in the 200-yard IM (2:10.03) with Krew coming in second with a time of 2:12.64.
At the other end of the pool Anna Behrman and Katie Lipsey went one and two in the 1-meter dive. Behrman scored a 236.77 with Lipsey behind her with a 233.84.
The Green wave return to action Nov. 6th versus Vanderbilt.
