
Swimming and Diving Wraps Up First Meet of the Season

LITTLE ROCK – The Tulane swimming and diving team recorded six first-place finishes on Saturday, building off their dominant performance on Friday.
Each day of the two-day competition was separately scored with Tulane coming in second both days.
"I am extremely proud of how our team competed these past few days" head swim and dive coach Leah Stancil said. "We simply did not have enough bodies to pull out a win, but they fought hard. Everyone stepped up in a very big way, especially Sam Krew who in her college debut walked away with two wins. Our Tulane fans and alumni should be very proud."
In her debut as a member of the Green Wave, freshman Sam Krew took first in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:28.42). In Friday's competition Krew took first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:52.54).Teammates Lilly Byrne and Noa Heron went one and two in the 200-yard freestyle. Bryne touched the wall at 1:51.37, with Heron right behind her at 1:52.87. Bryne also pulled off the win in the 500-yard freestyle (5:01.34) with teammate Iza Pelka right behind her in second (5:08.18).
Sophomore Danielle Titus hit the wall first in the 200-yard backstroke (2:01.46). Titus swam as the first leg of the 200-yard medley relay and recorded a split of 26.60 helping the team of Liv Davidson, Eleanor McMeen, and Riley Hendrix come out with a second-place finish.In the 200-yard butterfly, junior Mya Drost-Parra came out on top with a time of 2:05.53.

The Green Wave had divers go one and two in the 3-meter dive. Sophomore Paige McKenzie took first with a score of 257.25 and freshman Anna Behrman came in behind her with a score of 247.45
The Green Wave are back in action next Friday in Pensacola, Fla. as they take on the University of West Florida.
