
Tulane Lands a Couple on the 2021 All-LSWA Team

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University senior volleyball players Lexie Douglas and Taylor Henigsman were selected to the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) 2021 All-Louisiana Volleyball teams on Thursday.

Twelve schools were represented on the 2021 LSWA All-Louisiana Volleyball teams. The Green Wave were among the five with multiple selections. LSU led the way with four selections. ULL followed closely with three, while Loyola, Northwestern State, and Tulane each had two selections. Dillard, McNeese, Xavier, Southeastern, LA Tech., Nicholls and ULM all landed one.Â

Douglas was named LSWA All-Louisiana Volleyball First Team, while Henigsman tabbed Honorable Mention.

Douglas finished the season with a team-leading 347 kills in 32 matches, averaging 2.99 per set. The Plano, Texas, native also earned 25 service aces, 263 digs and 50.0 blocks, totaling five double-doubles in her final year Uptown. The graduate student earned a career-high 27 kills in the win against Temple on Halloween day. She also passed the 1,000-career dig mark in the 2021 season.Â

Henigsman led the way for the Green Wave in the setting position, notching 863 assists in just 24 matches, averaging 9.92 a set. The Richardson Texas native also added 158 digs to average 1.82 per set, 16 service aces and 21 blocks. The senior recorded a new career high with 62 assists in a conference match at East Carolina, setting a respectable .466 in the win. Tabbed double-digit assists in all but one match this season. She had 22 matches of 20 or more assists, 18 matches with at least 30 assists and nine matches with 40 plus assists.
