Migle Muraskaite Sets New Tulane Pentathlon Record at Championships at the Peak

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Tulane senior Migle Muraskaite competed to a fifth-place finish at the Championships at the Peak hosted by the USAF Academy at the Cadet Field House with a total score of 3836 points Thursday afternoon.
Previously in 2021, at the KSU DeLoss Dodds Invitational, Muraskaite broke the Tulane record, and her score at USAF improves on her program record for the pentathlon in Tulane history.
"Migle competed incredibly hard today and has made great strides in several events throughout this indoor season," assistant coach Chris Johnson said. "I am proud of her effort, and she finished strong in the 800m, which was a challenging event due to the altitude in Colorado Springs. I look forward to her continuing to work and build on her performances as we transition to the outdoor season."
For individual event marks, Muraskaite competed at a remarkable level. She placed third in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.70. In the high jump, she placed fifth with a mark of 1.66m beforing winning the shot put with a distance of 13.08m. Muraskaite contended in the long jump with a mark of 5.08m, earning 11th place. To complete the pentathlon, she placed second in the 800m with a time of 2:26.14.
