NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University Ben Weiner Director of Athletics Chair Troy Dannen announced today the restructuring of Tulane Athletics' leadership team and the promotion of six staff members.
Â
Dr. Charvi Greer will serve Deputy Athletic Director for Student Services and continue to serve as the department's Senior Woman Administrator. Chris Maitre moves to Deputy Athletic Director for Internal Operations, Jana Woodson to Deputy Athletic Director for External Operations, Tony Margherio to Associate Athletic Director for Marketing and Creative Services, Liz Devlin Ziegler becomes Chief of Staff and Justin Berger is now Assistant Athletic Director for Development.
Â
"I am thrilled to be able to elevate these members of our team," Dannen said. "They have enhanced our student-athlete experience and helped build a solid competitive foundation while acting as exceptional representatives of the University.  Their leadership during the pandemic has been particularly noteworthy, putting us in a position for success in all endeavors entering the 2021-22 school year."
Â
Greer joined the department in 2016 after serving the previous five years at East Tennessee State. Since arriving at Tulane, Greer has overseen an academics and career development unit that has significantly impacted the collegiate experience for Tulane's 350-plus student-athletes. Most recently in the fall of 2020, Tulane student-athletes registered the highest departmental grade point average for a fall semester under her direction along with record retention and graduation rates. In her new capacity, Greer will serve as the sport administrator for men's basketball, women's basketball and volleyball while overseeing all student services including academic programing, career services, sports medicine, strength and conditioning and mental health services.
Â
Maitre has worked for Tulane University since 1996 where he has served in several roles and departments across campus during his 25 years as an administrator. Over the past two years alone, Maitre has directed over $7 million in facility enhancements while serving as the institution's point of contact for numerous NCAA Championship events, including the NCAA Men's and Women's Final Fours. In his new role, Maitre will oversee all internal facing units within athletics, which include facilities management, capital projects, the business office, equipment operations and event management. Maitre will also serve as the sport administrator for football and golf.
Â
Woodson joined Tulane in April of 2017 following three years at Rice University. Since joining the staff, Woodson has played a key role in tripling the department's licensing revenue. In addition, Tulane's ticket sales saw a 43 percent jump in group ticketing prior to the COVID-19 pandemic under her direction. In her role, Woodson will continue to oversee all external units, including development, marketing, ticket services, strategic communications, creative services, broadcasting and the Learfield IMG partnership. She will also serve as the sport administrator for bowling as well as men's and women's tennis.
Â
Margherio has served Tulane athletics since 2013. During his tenure leading the institution's marketing efforts, Tulane has seen an overall attendance increase of 13 percent with a 42 percent increase in student attendance. In his new role, Margherio will continue to lead the department's marketing efforts including in-game entertainment, advertising and promotions. He will also oversee the newly created Creative Services department which will manage the department's social media, creative video and graphic design needs.
Â
Devlin Ziegler joined Tulane Athletics in 1989 working in the football office for several years before becoming the special assistant to the Athletic Director in July of 2018. Since 2018, Devlin Ziegler has played a significant role in streamlining the department's human resource efforts while playing a key role on Dannen's executive cabinet. Â As Chief of Staff, Devlin Ziegler will continue to support all day-to-day operations of the athletics department including human resources, direction of the program coordinators and day-to-day functions of the administration.
Â
Berger came to Tulane in June of 2018 from the University at Albany. Since arriving in Uptown, Berger has served as a valuable member of the Green Wave Club staff and has been instrumental in guiding the department to a record-breaking fundraising year in the midst of a global pandemic. He will continue to enhance the day-to-day operations of the athletics development office concentrating on overall donor relations, stewardship and fundraising initiatives with focus on the Olive and Blue Society, Tulane Letterwinners Association and annual donor events.
