
Tulane Athletics to Host Third Wave Brand Works Panel

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane Athletics will conduct its third installment of Wave Brand Works programming event for Green Wave student-athletes on Sunday, April 11.

The third Wave Brand Works program will comprise a panel of formed Tulane University student-athletes addressing the subject of transitioning into a healthy lifestyle following their collegiate careers. The five former student-athletes presenting and leading the discussion will be Tiffany Aidoo '11 (women's basketball), Jonathon Artigues '20 (baseball), Richard Carton '16 and '20 (football and baseball), Haydyn Gibson '20 (women's golf) and Hannah Holmes '17 (beach volleyball).
A former scholarship player for Green Wave Women's Basketball, Aidoo currently works as a New Orleans program officer for Laureus Sport for Good Foundation USA, which is part of a global network propelling the power of sport to address critical social justice issues and as a tool for youth development. With a lifetime of experience as a high-level performing athlete and nearly a decade in advocacy, service and now in philanthropy, her mission is to advocate for athletes and the power of sport. Previously, she worked in former New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu's Office with the NOLA FOR LIFE program, which was Landrieu's comprehensive murder reduction strategy. In addition, she has experience working within nonprofits, professional sports teams and various local and national stakeholders.
Artigues graduated from the Tulane MBA program in December 2020 and currently attends Tulane Law School for Fall 2021 while working as a remote business analyst for the Garces Group, a Philadelphia-based restaurant group, and as a baseball instructor at Big Easy Sportsplex. He was a 2020 Preseason All-American Athletic Conference Team selection and batted .303 in 154 career games played with the Green Wave's baseball program from 2017-20.
Carthon is a rising thought-leader and a serial entrepreneur whose experience spans startup operations, app development, fundraising and Fintech. He currently works as Sales Director of Patient Engagement and Teleradiology at Experity While he is originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, he is currently living and working in Austin, Texas where he has immersed himself in the city's growing startup ecosystem. Carthon has gained notoriety from his collaborative approach to challenging the existing practices of startups, small businesses and established firms. His track record of success has solidified his reputation as a trusted revenue enhancement specialist who can define the required plan of action and execute against that plan.
Gibson is currently an NCAA Division II Governance intern and resides in Indianapolis, Indiana near the organization's headquarters. She is one of 30 interns at the NCAA. In her current role, she observes the "behind the scenes" of Division II athletics administration while assisting in social media oversight and participating in governance meetings with athletic directors, university presidents and student-athletes.. Gibson helps coordinate the division's social media accounts by finding content that exemplifies and enhances the division's philosophy.
Holmes is currently a third-year student at Tulane Law School and will graduate in May 2021 with a juris doctor degree and a certificate of concentration in sports law. Additionally, she work as a legal intern for Altius Sports Partners, a consulting firm that specializes in name, image and likeness education and works with college athletic departments.Â
The first Wave Brand Works program conducted on August 30 addressed matters such as personal branding, social media awareness and marketing. The second session held on January 31 invited panelists to discuss entrepreneurship and starting businesses.

The Wave Brand Works mission is to provide Tulane student-athletes with a comprehensive educational program to equip each of them with the knowledge and expertise to maximize their NIL opportunities in a way that is compliant with NCAA legislation, as well as with federal and state laws.

Wave Brand Works will work to address its five pillars of Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) Education, Brand Management and Growth, Entrepreneurship, Agent and Marketing Advisor Education and Health and Wellness. The programming will look to guide the Tulane student-athletes through the NCAA's changing rules directed at NIL.
