NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University women's tennis head coach Maria Brito announced the addition of Sean Mullen as the fourth member of the Green Wave's 2021 recruiting class.
Mullen joins Lulu Zhu, Brooke Theis and Lily Walther, as the quartet will arrive on campus during the fall of 2021.
"We are thrilled to welcome Sean to our family at Tulane," Brito said. "She has a great work ethic, loves tennis and she is very passionate on and off the court. Sean is a strong addition to our great 2021 class."
A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Mullen is rated a three-star recruit by the Tennis Recruiting Network and the No. 5 player in the state of Tennessee for the 2021 class. Among her performances on the junior circuit, she won a first-round match and four consolation draw matches at the U18 Level 3 USTA Juniors tournament in Rome, Georgia in January 2021 and reached the doubles quarterfinals of the USTA Southern Level 2 Winter Championships in December.
Mullen also reached the Southern Level 3 singles final at the 2019 Springhurst New Years Classic after advancing to the singles quarterfinals as the No. 9 overall seed at the Icy Hot USTA Southern Level 2 Championships in October 2019. Additionally, she made it to the title match of the 2019 Level 3 Alabama Junior Claycourt State Championship as the No. 2 overall seed.
Mullen attends St. Benedict at Auburndale High School in Memphis. Her two older sisters, Finn and Mia, each lettered at Division III Rhodes College.
