Tulane Volleyball Starts Fall Camp on Monday

NEW ORLEANSย โ The Tulane University volleyball team will open its 2021 fall camp on Monday. Tulane head coach Jim Barnes' enters his sixth season on the bench forย the Green Wave.

A LOOK BACK ON THE 2020 SEASONย
-Tulane put together a regular season record of 10-10 and an AAC mark of 7-4 in the shortened 2020.
-ย Tulane University volleyball playersย Lexie Douglas,ย Kayla Dinkinsย andย Sophia Ervanianย were selected to the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) 2020-21 All-Louisiana Volleyball teams. Douglas and Dinkins were named LSWA All-Louisiana Volleyball First Team, while Ervanian was tabbed Second Team. Douglas and Dinkins were also named to the 2020 All-American Athletic Conference First Team.
-The Green Wave were lead on both ends of the court last season by middle hitter Kayla Dinkins. In 76 sets of action in her third season Uptown, Dinkins totaled 88.0 blocks to average 1.16 per set, which ranked third in the conference. The Pittsburgh native also recorded 175 kills to average 2.30 per set. After she recorded nine blocks (1.29 per set) and 21 kills (3.00 per set) in the team's last regular season sweep over Tulsa, Dinkins was named to the final AAC weekly honor roll for the second time in the 2020 season.ย
-Middle hitter Anna Davis and outside hitter Mackenzie Martin helped lead the way for the Olive and Blue offensively in 2020. The Castle Rock, Colorado, native totaled 159 kills (2.09 per set) in her first year with the Green Wave, she recorded a career-high 15 kills on 18 attacks with no errors to post a .833 hitting percentage (the second-best attack percentage in program history) in Tulane's win over USF (March 20) and was named the AAC Offensive Player of the Week. In Tulane's win over Tulsa (March 27), Martin totaled 19 kills and hit .386, she also added 10 digs in her seventh double-double last season. The Port Orange, Florida, native recorded 182 kills (2.68 per set) and 212 digs (3.12 per set) in her first season on the roster.ย
-Outside hitter, Lexie Douglas also served as a consistent leader for the Green Wave's offense in 2020. She recorded 260 kills to average 3.42 per set, ranked seventh in the conference in kills per set and in points per set (3.95) by seasons end. Douglas notched double-digit kills in 14 of Tulane's 20 matches last season and totaled seven double-doubles.ย
-Defensively, libero Sophia Ervanian ranked sixth in the conference with an average of 4.35 digs per set in her freshman campaign, she totaled 274 digs in 63 sets of action.ย
-Setter Taylor Henigsman paved the way for Tulane's offensive success last season, totaling 587 assists to average 8.15 per set in 72 sets, ranked eighth in the conference by the end of the 2020 season. The junior also totaled 16.0 blocks and 26 kills total last season.ย
