Tulane Ready for SEISA Fall Championships
Oct 28, 2022 | Sailing
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University Sailing will be on the waters of Lake Travis in the Lone Star State this weekend for the 2022 SEISA Open and Women's Championships. The regatta will be hosted at the Austin Yacht Club by the University of Texas.
Â
The Green Wave won both the Open and Women's Fall SEISA Conference Championship Regatta last year.
"It's hard to believe we're already into the championship segment of the fall season," Head Coach Charlse Higgins said. "But the squad has been working hard to get here and I know we have the ability to come away with a couple victories this weekend."
Â
Tulane will race among 10 teams in the Fall Open Championship on Saturday. Along with the Green Wave, the teams featured in the regatta will include Baylor, Texas A&M, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, TCU, Central Oklahoma, Kansas, North Texas, and Texas. The starting lineup that will take to the water for the Green Wave will feature Peter Foley alongside Catherine Anderson in the A Division and John Wood with Raquel Shulman in the B Division. Bobby Rielly, Alex Makoid, and Zander King will also be available as alternates.
The Fall Women's Championship will feature six teams on Sunday as the Green Wave will race against Baylor, Texas A&M Corpus-Christi, Texas A&M, Central Oklahoma, and Texas. The Tulane starting lineup will feature Ashley Hoguet sailing with Megan Cassidy in the A Division and Lucy Spearman alongside Anderson in the B Division.
Results will be posted for the Open Championship HERE and the Women's Championship HERE following each day of racing.
