Green Wave Takes Home SEISA Fall Women’s Championship
Oct 30, 2022 | Sailing
AUSTIN, Texas – Tulane University Sailing rolled to another conference title as it swept both divisions to bring home the victory in SEISA Fall Women's Championship Sunday. The Green Wave won each division by at least a double-digit score with the nearest team being 28 behind its total score.
"We're certainly pleased to come away with the wins this weekend," Head Coach Charles Higgins said. "The team put together a dominant performance and got the job done."
Tulane was paced by its B Division team of Lucy Spearman with Catherine Anderson which finished with a total of seven through six races. The team cruised to the top spot in the division by 16 and topped its fellow Tulane team by eight.
The A Division team featuring Ashley Hoguet alongside Megan Cassidy finished second overall with a total of 15 and paced its division by nine on the scoreboard.
"It wasn't easy to put points between us and opposing teams," Higgins said. "But we kept our composure and methodically went about doing the little things that helped ensure consistent results."
Up next, junior Thad Lettsome will represent the Green Wave in the Open Singlehanded National Championships held in Norfolk, Virginia, November 5-6.
