Beach Volleyball’s Simone Gibson Heads to US National Team Training Camp

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University Beach Volleyball freshman Simone Gibson will be participating in the USA Volleyball National Team Development Program (NTDP) this weekend in Manhattan Beach, California.

"We are extremely proud of Simone as she goes on the national team training session with the entire Tulane Beach Volleyball family behind her in support," Head Coach Eyal Zimet said. "Simone is an exemplary student-athlete to the core, pursuing a super intelligent academic path and tirelessly driving to get better on the sand! Represent Sim!! Roll Wave!"

Gibson will be a member of the Under-20 Fall Training roster from the Southern California region. The Green Wave freshman will go through the program under the direction of Head Coach Andrew Fuller from Stanford. Gibson will also receive coaching from USA Olympian April Ross and Hector Gutierrez from TCU as assistant coaches.

Participation in the National Team Development Program Training Series will provide evaluation, feedback and individual development plans that will be accompanied by online learning experiences to help support athletes in a healthy and holistic way. The NTDP Training Series is age-appropriate and aligned with the expectations of the senior national team coaching and performance staff.
