Tulane Beach Volleyball Set for Blazer Beach Bash
Apr 9, 2026 | Women's Beach Volleyball
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Tulane beach volleyball team will compete in its penultimate event of the regular season this weekend as the Green Wave will play four duals in the Blazer Beach Bash, hosted by Conference USA foe UAB. The tournament begins tomorrow with a pair of duals and closes on Saturday with two more at the Blazer Beach Courts.
Â
Tulane is coming off a 2-2 weekend in the Longhorn Showdown last week, but the two losses were to No. 3 Texas. The Wave picked up a ranked win over No. 19 Washington and also dispatched Houston Christian in 5-0 fashion.
Â
Entering the weekend, the Wave is 16-10 on the campaign. Tulane will open play at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow morning with its third match-up against Houston Christian this season. At 4:00 p.m., Tulane will battle the host Blazers in a conference tilt, the second-such contest this season. Saturday's slate features two first-time meetings on the year, as Tulane faces Mercer at 10:00 a.m. and Louisiana Monroe at 2:00 p.m.
Â
Tulane continues to test itself after three ranked duals last weekend, as UAB and Tulane are the first two teams outside this week's top 20. Both squads tout 11 votes to sit just behind the threshold for being ranked.
Â
Skylar Ensign and Molly Trodd have led the Wave this season with a 20-6 record between the top-two flights. At No. 1, the duo are 9-2, and they are 11-4 at No. 2. Despite their 10-match win streak ending last week, they have won 12 of their last 14 match-ups. Katie Hansen and Emma Morris have also split time between the top flights, boasting a 15-11 overall mark. They are 9-6 at the top flight and 6-5 as the second pairing. Amirah Ali also owns 15 wins this season with multiple partners, and she has shined with Tawny Ensign at No. 3. The duo are 10-6 on the campaign.
Â
The regular season will come to a close next weekend as Tulane hosts the NOLA Classic at White Sands Beach Volleyball courts. The Wave will play five times across two days on April 17 and 18 with No. 20 Arizona, ULM, New Orleans, Florida International, and Southern Miss coming to town. Saturday, April 18, will be senior day for Tulane as the program will honor its six seniors. The following week will feature the CUSA Championship in Youngsville, Louisiana.
