
Tulane Duo Falls in the Opening Round at the ITA Fall Championships

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Tulane University Women's Tennis doubles team of Charlotte Russell and Lahari Yelamanchili dropped their first match in the opening round of the ITA Fall National Championship in a hard-fought two/three-set battle on Wednesday.
Russell and Yelamanchili squared off against Mary Brumfield and Selma Cadar from Maryland in the doubles draw round of 32. After dropping the first set 2-6, the Green Wave pair rallied from behind to force a tiebreak in the second set. The duo ultimately lost the tiebreak 4-7 to drop the match.
The Tulane duo will have an opportunity to stay alive in the tournament on Thursday as they will take on Erin Richardson and Makenna Thiel from Cal in the consolation bracket.
