
Beach Volleyball Drops Matches to No. 4 FSU and No. 1 UCLA

GULF SHORES, Ala. – Tulane beach volleyball dropped their first three matches of the weekend in the March to May tournament hosted by UAB.
The Green Wave dropped their opening match to Georgia State 4-1 on Friday, with the only match victory coming from top pair Maddie Speicher and Kendall Peters. They took the match in two sets, 21-16, 21-19.
Pair five Haley Gibson and Savka Popovic were tied up at one apiece versus GSU, before a weather delay stopped play for the day.
Tulane was swept by Florida State on Saturday morning. Speicher and Peters had the best performance for the Wave, taking the No. 4 ranked FSU to three sets.
Tulane took on the No.1 team in the country in the afternoon in UCLA. Sara Hall and Ashton Mares got the only win of the match for Tulane. They took the first set 21-19, dropped the second 19-21 and took the match in a tight 15-12 set three.
The Green Wave will continue action tomorrow as they take on UAB, No. 7 Grand Canyon and No. 15 South Carolina to finish out the tournament.
