
Golf Finishes 10th at Trinity Forest Invitational

DALLASÂ - The Tulane University women's golf team finished 10th in the Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas on Tuesday.

Tulane had a team total 914 while Texas Tech took the tournament with 886.
Â
Freshman Carla Bernat finished with the best card for Tulane. She finished day two, two-under-par at 70 which was good for a tie for 8th place. She shot a 75 in round one and a 77 in round two for a total of 222.
Sandra Vazquez had the next best score with a total of 227. Vazquez shot eight-over in the first round but redeemed herself by shooting par in the second. In the third round, she shot three-over-par, which landed her tied for 18th.

Freshman Matilde Innocenti shot seven-over in the final round, struggling on the ninth hole. In the first round, Innocenti shot nine-over and in the second a 75 to land her in 50th with 235.

Teammate Cleo Liu was right behind her at 51st with a total card of 236. Liu shot nine-over in the first two rounds and shot a 74 in the third round. Â

Carlota Palacios rounded out the Tulane team score with a 240 through the three rounds. Palacios shot six-over in the third round after shooting 14 over in the first and four-over in the second to finish tied for 65th.

Competing as an individual, Miriam Emmert finished tied at 24th and shot four-over on the day. Emmert shot a 77 in the first round and a 75 in the second.

The Green Wave are back in action Monday when they head to South Carolina to participate in the Briar's Creek Invitational.
